In 1926, the Francesco DeSanctis Lodge began the Natick Sons and Daughters of Italy. It all started with volunteers and it continues to this day. We have donated hundreds of hours to running every aspect of the Lodge; from answering the phones, recycling cans, landscaping, making sauce for Pasta Night, paying the bills and shutting the lights off after every function. The Lodge would cease to exist without the incredible love and faithfulness of our volunteers.
The Natick Sons and Daughters of Italy strives to make meaningful charitable donations annually. This is the culmination of hundreds of volunteer hours and the incredible support of our members and patrons. We are proud to share our charitable giving information.
2020 has been a difficult year, but we continued our charitable giving with support from our generous donors, patrons and members. We awarded $8,500 in scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors, from 5 different towns and schools. Additionally we made charitable donations to the Alzheimer Association, Natick Service Council and Family Promise Metrowest. Our Marine League Toys for Tots drive successfully donated 165 toys to local children. We are very happy to continue our charity mission into 2021.
